Main responsibilities:

 

- Editing and commissioning print and online stories

- Planning content for a bi-weekly newspaper

- Overseeing and coordinating a team of journalists and section editors

- Organizing forums, debates, polls and other interactive face-to-face and online communication with the newspaper’s target audience and partners

- Recruiting and working with freelance columnists

- Managing editorial and freelance budgets

- Collaboration with advertising and marketing departments to promote the newspaper’s brand

- Deputizing for the Editor-in-Chief

 

Requirements:

- Higher education (preferably a Bachelor of Arts degree)

- At least three years’ experience in a similar position for an English-language newspaper, website or news agency

- Good knowledge of Russian business and current affairs (Preferably with experience of living and working in Moscow)

- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines

- Experience of working with various multimedia formats

- Ability to represent the newspaper at conferences and on business trips

- Reliable, with a proactive attitude

 

Languages:

 

- Native English speaker

- A minimum of intermediate level Russian (spoken and comprehension)

 

Computer skills:

 

- Adobe Design Suite, including InDesign, InCopy

- Microsoft Office Suite for PC and Mac

- Social media, including Facebook, Twitter
